There’s a hot minute on the clock. The track damp and moist from the night before. Spotlights flooded the area in a bright light, illuminating the entire arena. The marbles pushed against each other at the start, behind the gates that release them a the sound of a gunshot. 3. The audience falls silent as they prepare for the race. 2. The marbles seem to tense up, ready to bolt at the first possible moment. 1. The hand of the referee tightens around the gun’s trigger. BANG. The gates are released and the marbles thunder across the first straight, hitting and smashing into each other as they near the first bend. Ducktape takes the lead after smoothly gliding over the first corner, the others in his trail. Red Number 3 starts to gain on Ducktape as they hit the first jump, but hand on! Ducktape hits Red Number 3 out of the park. That’s going to be a DNF for him. Marbley McMarbleface also looks like a contender for first place. Here they go into the final stretch, the hot minute nearly over. Marbley McMarbleface in the lead, this looks like it’s gonna be easy dubs for him. Ducktape is fading . This is not a good moment for him. Nearing the half point marker as Ducktape suddenly stops fading. He’s going faster. HE’S GOING FASTER. OMG I don’t believe it. It looks as if Ducktape is gonna pull this one back. He’s overtakes Marbley McMarbleface, leaving him to eat his dust.
